Places orders for all direct materials and monitors delivery to support scheduled production demands. Facilitates resolution of delivery issues with production unit and vendors. This role participates in cycle count activities, and has a shared responsibility for IRA metrics and performance. The position must interact closely with production units to closely match raw material inventory balances with planned consumption rates. Participates in month-end close in Packaging.Accountabilities: • Maintains supply plan for lower-level components for assigned chemical synthesis production/formulation/packaging units and lines based on demands in SAP for finished goods.• Review MRP-generated requisitions for lower-level materials and create purchase orders that support production demands in both timing and quantity.• Review monthly supply requirements with Asset Planners and ensure that short and long range procurement plans meet requirements.• Work with suppliers to confirm deliveries and resolve supply problems and lead-time issues that effect the production plan.• Provide vendor forecasts as requested.• Monitor production performance against plan and adjust material delivery requirements as necessary.• Monitor design and regulatory changes to all lower level components and ensure that all materials on BOM are up-to-date.• Monitor inventory of lower-level components including physical inventories and reconciliations to achieve high level of inventory accuracy.• Maintain all vendor scheduling-related master data in SAP such as material masters, BOM?s, routings and work centers.• Monitor standard vs actual consumption factors for production BOM?s along with Asset Planners. Advise FPA personnel on updates to factors.• Monitor supplier performance and raise supplier issues with home office direct procurement personnel.• Maintain a good relationship with all raw material suppliers.• Backup other planner/vendor schedulers.Knowledge, Skills & Experience: Ability to work with many different people, both inside and outside the company.
