Set Up Mechanic - 1st and 2nd shift

Principal Tasks: Participates in setting up range boards on starting of new jobs Proper set-up of semi-automatic and automatic machines to maximize equipment utilization and operator efficiency. Makes sure that standard production rates are achieved on all machines and reports any discrepancies to the shift supervisor Removes and sets up machine tooling at each release Responds quickly to resolve problems on machine Trains the employees on set-up of new tooling, changing screens and squeegees Relief operators when needed Changes screens and squeegees Obtains productivity results daily Awareness of internal / external customer complaints Applies the self-checking rules Create and modify programs on automatic machines Ensures that all equipment is in optimal condition (stackers, conveyors, IR (infrared tunnel), UV tunnels, pallet lifters etc¿) Reports anomalies and equipment needs to shift supervisor Performs maintenance and replaces tooling and wear parts on the machine Lubricates the machines on a weekly basis Maintains the machines and its environment clean and organized at all times Participates in maintaining their work area by applying 5S rules Specific Tasks: Becomes aware of the Overall Equipment Effectiveness report from the previous day as well as the quality results. Comments any deviations with the Shift Supervisor. Proposes improvements for better efficiency (production and quality) and/or to meet safety requirements Responsible for reporting status on tooling and follow-up on them Trains new operators M3: Set up mechanics are been trained to be the back-ups for the material handlers.
