Commodity & Investments Buyer________________________________________TxMQ is currently assisting their client in the search for a qualified Commodity & Investments Buyer for their facility in Chautauqua County, NY.________________________________________REPORTING TO: Purchasing DirectorDIRECT REPORTS: NonePOSITION SUMMARY: • Define the strategy of the different commodities and manages the supplier relationship in order to purchase materials that fulfill the division requirements and targets in terms of Cost, Quality, Delivery, and Service. • Conduct purchasing marketing study to identify suppliers capable of providing the company with the best competitive packages in terms of QCD, preferably in low cost countries. The results shall be shared in coordination meetings with other company plants. The Buyer shall analyze all Request for Quotes piece price and tooling breakdowns received and go through a supplier selection process in order to propose the best alternatives in line with the supplier reduction program, using the company ?tool box? (Eval, audits, etc.)• The buyer is responsible for the quality of the part so that it does not interfere with and jeopardize the production of finished goods for our Customers. In the same mindset, the buyer will ensure that parts are delivered on time in order to avoid any expedited shipments and/or line shutdown.• The buyer shall be a support to the project teams to ensure that the commodity strategy is applied.• The buyer will demonstrate proficiency and competency in use of Involvement of Personnel tools which support the Company continuous improvement philosophy. Actively supports ISO/TS16949, ISO 14001, OHSAS 18001, and supports all necessary activities to fully implement all management systems into all aspects of Company operations.
