Internist needed in Tulsa, Oklahoma. A physician who has been in practice for nearly seven years 4 years as Hospitalist/3 as traditional Internist will be leaving this summer to practice in Dallas. He has a traditional IM practice in an office with three other Internists on the hospital campus. They typically spend 4.5 days each week seeing patients in the office, with a regularly scheduled afternoon out each week. They also see their own patients who are hospitalized at the hospital and have a weekend call rotation of 1:4. Financial packages include a base salary for first year of employment. These salaries are typically conservative approx. $130k for IM and FP, however, they identify productivity targets that will allow the physician to exceed the base salary during the first year. In subsequent years, most of the physicians are paid on a straight productivity model based on work RVUs. The compensation model allows for a wide range of physician compensation beyond the first year of employment, with compensation for IMs ranging from $80k to $300k. Malpractice insurance and CME/professional business expenses are considered part of the practice sites overhead. They offer health, dental and life insurance, however, the group does not share in the cost. The cost for the amount of coverage elected by the physician is deducted from the physicians pay on a pre-tax basis. They offer a generous retirement program for physicians which includes both an employer funded basic retirement plan and an employee funded 403b plan with employer match.
