EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE: Associate's degree (A. A.) or equivalent from two-year college or technical school; or six months to one year related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience. JOB RESPONSIBILITIES: 1. Review production schedules and related information and confer with department supervisors to determine material priorities and to identify overdue materials and track. Inform other departments of material status. 2. Requisition material and prepare purchase orders to establish sequential delivery dates, according to job order priorities and material availability. 3. Maintain open purchase order files. 4. Compute amount of material required to meet production schedules. 5. Communicate with vendors about order deliveries 6. Compile and maintain manual and computerized records such as material inventory for in house measurements; inventory for customers of consigned material; cycle counts and inventory adjustments. 7. Examine and enter into computer customer releases and purchase orders. Check prices and revision levels against computer and notify correct department in case of a discrepancy. 8. Create and maintain work orders in computer system to fill customer orders. 9. Communicate with customers about their orders, delivery dates, and any problems with meeting their delivery dates. 10. Track changes in customer releases from week to week. 11. Measure the companys delivery performance and report it to management. 12. Measure vendor delivery performance and report it to management and vendors along with corrective actions as necessary. 13. Send scrap reports to vendors for credit; report vendor scrap of consigned material to the customer and reports in house scrap cost of consigned material to Financial Manager. 14.
